Biology question

Hi please could i have help on this question? Isn’t osmosis the movement of water so wouldn’t Y be full of water?

osmosis is the movement of water from a higher water potential to a lower water potential down a water potential gradient. but where is the indication that solution x is water, is there even a mention of water. does it specify water potential? due to diffusion, it is likely that solution x is what fills the space. so yeah answer is solution x I'm pretty sure

But can solutions diffuse, isn’t it only for solids/gases?

yes, solutions can diffuse. water has a special name.
