Predictions for what might come up for pure now that we've had the other 2 papers?
A giant 9 mark parametric 100%
Reply 3
circle geometry

Thinking out loud; correct me if anything is wrong/add more:

[Differentiation] Optimisation (likely involving arcs); connected rates of change, parametric

[Integration] By parts, Reverse differentiation;

[Exp&Logs] Exponetial graph, reduction to linear form (? Maybe)

[Cordinate Geo] Lines, Circles

[Trig] modelling, maybe Rcos(theta+alpha)? (Link to graph transformations, max/min value)
*Stats is just the whole thing, just do past papers*

Which year do u think the stats section was the hardest? Ive done them all they were relatively easy but i might redo some of the harder ones

2023 or Specimin -

though, stats sections are generally all really friendly (thanks AQA for high grade boundaries); so it is more just practising how to do the stat section quickly and securely - I've just done all the stats sections in the past week; limiting myself to 30mins for each, as although every stats question is the same, a silly slip may just be worth 5 marks (i.e., not noticing normal hypothesis test is a sample) - and just giving enough time in exams to either be certain on pure, or do a double check through.

I think these havent appeared??
*PARAMETRICS*
Exponential graphs
Reverse chain… int
Circles
*Sectors, arc lengths*
*Harmonic identities*
Graphs (drawing them) transformation
First principles?
Volumes of random shapes
Discriminant?
Coordinate geometry ?
Radians??
3D coord vectors
Okay stats question:
The weight, X grams, of soup in a carton may be modelled by a normal random variable with mean 406 and standard deviation 4.2
Find the probability that the weight of soup in a carton:
a) less than 400g. (3 marks)
b) between 402.5g and 407.5g. (4 marks)
all im doing is plugging in the numbers and coming out with the correct answers but the markscheme is using z scores?? would i lose marks for doing my method as im still getting the correct answer

Ive asked my teachers this, and they said do wtv method u prefer (because i dont usually use z stats but also end up w the same answer as them) but im not too sure tbh 🤷*♀️ maybe if u have extra time in the exam go back and do it the z way to make sure u get the same answer?
anyone wanna take one for the team and get the boundaries low bcs I am STRUGGLING with 4 exams this week ☹️☹️

yeah, if u look at past papers they’ll have this method in the marking instructions. my teacher told me that when the exam papers are made, they also make a preliminary mark scheme. As examiners mark the papers, they’ll compile together the diff ways of how people answered the questions and they add it to mark scheme. But obviously only if all those methods get to the same answer.

aw nooo, I’m sure you’ll do fine!! I haven’t looked at stats since my mocks in March and idk how I’m gonna revise it all and do past papers 😭I js know this week is gonna drag.

the only thing keeping me sane is the fact that after this week I won’t ever have to do it again.

js plan your time wisely!!
