Hi, I'm flowersinmyhair! I'm aiming for an A in RS. The Christianity side of the course has had some of my favourite debates in the course - especially about secularism.

Hey does anyone know what the questions for RS were last year?

Yes but I would not try to predict topics if I were you. I remember one year they repeated 3 of the same topics from the previous year! OCR are unpredictable imo.

Hi I’m really struggling at DCT I don’t have teachers to put me through and I’m really struggling to plan essays and all what do you think I can do since you love the course more
I’m only manageable at
Augustine
Knowledge of God
Pluralism and theology
But the rest I’m quite weak

The paper isn't until 20th June so you still have time to work on your weaker areas. I personally find the Oxford A level Religious Studies for OCR revision guide very useful so it may be worth looking at getting that.
I usually revise through making mind maps and then turning the mind maps into flashcards which I can revise from.
If you are going to skip revising one topic I would say skip Christian Moral Action as it is very wordy, and you need to remember a lot of historical context as well.
If you have any more questions please ask me

Historical context is not so important for bonhoeffer - you really get marks for evaluating his theological ideas ! (views on relationship between church & state / cheap vs costly grace / knowing God's will).

Personally I wouldn't skip anything. It's not a crazy idea - but overall it's not a good one.

This is because - what if the topic you skipped comes up - but also a hard question or one you don't like comes up for another topic...? You could just learn all the other ones really well - but then you are doing MORE work on the other topics to save for the work you haven't done by skipping a topic...? That doesn't work out well overall since there are many other topics!

I remade my summary notes for Bonhoeffer recently - in full essay paragraph format - which is also how revision should be focused: https://alevelphilosophyandreligion.com/ocr-religious-studies/ocr-christianity/christian-moral-action/bonhoeffer-summary-notes/

i’m seriously stressing - i have biology paper 2 on friday then ethics monday (which should be good) but then biology paper 3 on wednesday and DCT on thursday and i seriously think i’m gonna feel so underprepared and anxious for. i’m already enough of a worrier as it is but the fact i have less than a day between Bio 3 and DCT is killing me along with ethics 2 days before. DCT is by far my weakest paper, i did a mock in april and got an A- in it, which at this point is the only thing keeping me going but i’m seriously worrying that i’m not going to have enough time to go over the content. don’t get me wrong i’ve revised it before but it’s the fact that i’ve been focused on other subjects for 2 months since i last did any proper revision for DCT and i’m worried that’s going to bring down my grade 😔

I feel you! I'm in the exact same position as you. I am just focusing on biology paper 2 and ethics at the moment because they are both probably my weakest papers. I have accepted it and I'm just trying to stay as calm as I can - I know this isn't probably helpful though, so if you have any questions please ask!

no that’s really helpful thank you! it’s nice to know i’m not alone in this, 😊wishing you best of luck for tomorrow of course! i’m the same, i’m focusing on bio paper 2 which will be useful for paper 3 next week, however DCT is definitely my weakest area so i’m going to be pushing that and ethics after tomorrow’s exam in prep for monday. luckily i only need a B in bio but an A in RS for my uni, so it should be manageable. only one more week of work to go😊 good luck

Hi does anyone have any tips on Moral Principles? I just feel it's a dire topic with nothing much to it except from... love? I just don't understand what it's asking me to think about. I just feel it's a blur of other topics like Jesus & Love, the Bible as true/ metaphorical. Idk just seems weird to me.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

From I think therefore I teach:
Death and afterlife - heaven, hell, or election, whether hell/heaven are real places
Person of Jesus - 'Jesus' relationship with God was truly unique'. Discuss
Pluralism and society - how Christians should deal with those without faith
Secularisation - general or specific question
She got predictions right for 3 on ethics and either 3 or 4 for philosophy, but personally I wouldn't rely on predictions and she says this herself

for the pluralism and society topic, does anyone know any points for these essays: do christians have a mission to those of no faith and whether christian communities should seek to convert people from other faiths

Is that possible that they could ask two questions on pluralism? Like one on theology and one on society
