UCL Medicine A100 2024

Hey everyone!

I wanted to start a thread for those aspiring to join the UCL Medicine A100 program for the 2024 entry. As a current UCL Medic myself, nearing the end of my first year, I thought I could share some valuable information and insights to help fellow applicants.

Entry Requirements:
To be eligible for the UCL Medicine A100 program, the entry requirements are as follows:

A*AA grades in Biology and Chemistry at A-level.
A third A-level of your choice (subject requirements can be found on the UCL website).
Changes in BMAT:
It's important to note that this will be the last year the BMAT (BioMedical Admissions Test) is required for entry into the UCL Medicine program. So make sure to prepare well and give it your best shot!

Personal Experience:
Being a UCL Medic myself, I can vouch for the exceptional quality of education and the incredible opportunities provided by the program. The curriculum is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of medical science while fostering critical thinking and practical skills.

Feel free to ask any questions you may have about the program, the application process, or anything else related to UCL Medicine. I'll do my best to provide accurate and helpful responses based on my experiences.

Best of luck to everyone applying for the UCL Medicine A100 program for 2024! Let's support each other throughout this journey and celebrate our successes together.

Note: Please keep in mind that this thread is for informational purposes only, and any official queries or concerns should be directed to the UCL admissions department.

Hi Rozh, Do I have to have a predicted grade that meet the standard entry requirement to qualify for the contextual offer?

Hi , what GCSEs did you get ?

Hi,
I had 887776665 but they don't look at GCSEs as long as you have a 6 in Maths and English Language, the BMAT is the most important part of the application as it already assess your GCSEs through section 2, so I would recommend focusing on that, as well as coming off as a well rounded individual through the personal statement and the interview, through hobbies and interests outside of medicine,

Hope this helps

not necessarily, they have a contextual offer calculator on their website that I would recommend you try, because you can be predicted AAB and still get in
Hi , thanks for your reply , were you a widening participant or said you had any difficulties during gcse exam season because i got not the best gcse grades (but I am above the requirements ) but im not a widening participant. I also want to apply for 2025 entry where theres not gonna be bmat anymore so do you think that will affect anything ?

Med school websites are a good place to start looking for this sort of information from previous years
https://www.ucl.ac.uk/medical-school/study/undergraduate/mbbs-admissions

Nobody can say for this year as it is a ranking against other people who apply

what are you averaging on your mocks? I'm currently averaging 5.4, 6.0, 3A which is slightly below the average for the last few years so a little worried but hoping I still have enough time to boost it further.
2023: 6.0,5.9,3.3A
2021:5.7, 5.8,3.4A

Has anyone heard anything about the content of UCL MMIs? They seem to be very secretive about what they entail. Like is there a roleplay station, calculation station, reasoning station etc like other unis or is it different? Are the interviewers/MMIs laid back or?

Where did you find the stats for the past year averages?( I'm not sure what I'm averaging in terms of scaled scores )
