Just saw the amputation scene from 127 Hours, pretty grim.

You haven't seen Shawshank? Reservoir Dogs? Where have you been living?

If you just watch it on it's own I don't see how it would be grim, as it's not really very graphic at all (chances are if you've seen any horror film from the last ten year's you've seen worse). The whole reason that scene is so disturbing is the build-up and the empathy you feel with the character, to watch the scene in isolation wouldn't be anywhere near as good.
