If you are capable of self-motivation lower contact hours don't matter and can actually be a benefit as it allows you to focus on things you don't know, rather than in contact time where it may well be going over things you do know. However if you don't work well when left to your own devices, it could be a bit of an issue, although wherever you go you are going to have to get used to doing a lot more for yourself.

yeye i know this, obviously thats the case for all uni's its just ive heard bristol in particular don;t have great student support and poor contact time etc, which may be an issue.

Hello there everyone  Just wondering did anyone get offers/rejections for politics and french? I applied on the ucas deadline and so far I've received an acknowledgement from the department. Is this like a gathered field email or just standard procedure? I found it a tad odd as it said offers would not be made until the new year but I applied in Jan.

I've got an offer for Politics but my girlfriend was rejected for French, so both departments have been making decisions...
