Politics generally operate in two dimensions - left versus right, and totalitarianism versus liberalism. It's possible to be a lefty but to be laissez-faire.
Because it's disliked by right wingers.

mas immigration adversely affects the poor of britain as it undercuts wages an squeezes the job market.

so, im not sure why the left support it?

is mass immigration a religious belief?
Absolutely,

mass immigration = more cars, clothes and television sets sold etc...
mass immigration = higher competition for jobs, depressing wages and living standards, but yielding far greater profits for big business

Big business funds political parties on either side of the centre, who carry out their propaganda and indocrination progammes to combat the wishes and protests of the native population.

Result?

We now have a generation of youth who are eagerly cheering on the destruction of our people, culture and nation.

Because most left-wingers (in any meaningful sense) are pro-social justice and internationalist, and don't confine ethics to the nation-state. Immigration is moral and compassionate. It improves peoples lives.

Traditionally the anti-immigration brigade were old white xenophobic Tories. There are a couple of socialist parties who stand in the EU elections and object strongly to open borders. I do agree that it is a bit of a contradiction to be a socialist and then wax lyrical about the benefits of mass immigration.

Mass immigration is a policy to destroy nationalism to make way for continental governance.

This seems relatively inane, political parties are whatever the constituents of the party make it - they don't have a necessary function (apart perhaps by corollary of positive law imposing its will on pre-requisites to 'political parties'), it's assigned by its members.

Considering few if any labourites would endorse that sentiment i doubt it would have much efficacy in toryising anyone.

This somewhat explains my point in Rawlsian terms (although when weighted against other ethical frameworks immigration seems to find support);

Greg Mankin (Harvard Economics Professor)
Even if you accept the debatable economic premise that low-income workers are significantly harmed, the argument [against increased immigration] fails on moral grounds. It flunks the famous ''veil of ignorance'' test of John Rawls, the quintessential liberal philosopher who stressed protections for the least fortunate members of society. Social rules are fair, he wrote in ''A Theory of Justice,'' if you would endorse them without knowing what your position in society would be.

Suppose you were setting immigration policy from behind that veil of ignorance. Which of these would you choose?

(1) Restricting immigration to protect some of the lower-paid workers in America from a decline in wages that would be no more than 8 percent, if it occurred at all.

(2) Expanding immigration to benefit most Americans while also giving some non-Americans living in dire poverty the chance to quadruple their income.

You don't need to slog through ''A Theory of Justice'' to figure out this one.

I'm sure (if she is an individual of rationality and sensibility) she maintains her position irrespective of those events because (A) I doubt she knows the nationality of those miscreants and (B) Sensible people don't make general views on particulars which hold little relevance to the greater picture.

It's analagous to me being hit by a person with a bagpipe in the street and maintaining vehement anti-irish feelings as a result.

Mass immigration is responsible for the erosion of traditional Christian morals in Britain - it must be curtailed immediately

No, sensible people with a bit life experience know this slapping game went by no other name than "lets slap whitey".
