Hello Ladies and Gents,

It's TSR Election time! The 7 parties of the TSR Model House of Commons are campaigning for your votes in TSR's 13th General Election. Their manifestos are below and please read through them carefully as the policies of some parties differ from their real life equivalent.

The poll is open for 10 days and those of you who have been here over 3 months and have more than 150 posts can vote.

The MHoC is a forum where members propose and debate changes to the law to improve the country or solve problems. If this appeals to you, or you have an idea for new laws to improve the UK, click here to join a party and click here to learn more about the TSR Model House Of Commons!

We desire a country where people are unburdened by the state. We want an education system that doesn't discriminate against the poor; a justice system that doesn’t provide luxuries to criminals and a government that’s honest about taxes and how it spends your money. We want a country where the state acts as Servant, not Master.

We want what you want - a government that works for you, listens to you and defends you.

Over the next term, we will;

- Reform Education , Eliminate the post code lottery, and allow people to go to schools based on merit- not wealth.

- Improve University funding , introducing a sponsorship scheme with businesses, allowing businesses to sponsor talented students, guaranteeing them a full time job when they graduate.

- Criminalise squatting - No one should be able to break into anyone's house and not be charged. We will criminalise this activity.

- Prisoners voting - We will prevent prisoners from voting whilst incarcerated. Our country is a sovereign state and will not be held to ransom by prisoners or by European courts.

- Reform taxation - When Gordon Brown introduced his 100+ new methods of taxation, he did it like any thief - stealthily. We’ll make them transparent, whilst also reducing corporation tax.

- Improve mental health support – those aged 16 and 17 miss out on support because they’re in that age bracket – that’s wrong, and we will change that.

Deficit reduction should be driven by a combination of economic growth, streamlining public services and closing tax loopholes. We support a number of measures to achieve this:

Students are the lifeblood of the future economy, and a person's ability to study in higher education should be based on just that - their ability. No one should be put off by financial issues, and we will support an education system that is affordable to all.

We will support both the national application of renewable energies and personal sustainability initiatives, transforming the UK into a sustainable and forward-thinking economy.

We think that your wellbeing, and not profit margins, should be the focus of the NHS. We will push towards increasing quality of care, while reducing the burden of administration on hospitals and GPs.

We aim to realise the UK’s potential to have a first class public railway network, opening new high-speed lines as well as improving local commuter rail links to take the strain off our crowded roads and promote regional development.

We seek to remove government intrusion in your lives. We will relax drug laws, stop the surveillance culture, and protect freedom of speech.

We believe in a world without nuclear weapons and will make Britain the first major power to unilaterally disarm our Trident arsenal, sending a strong message to the international community that weapons of mass destruction are not the answer.

Standing for honesty, freedom and a true liberal vision for the UK, we are the real Liberal Democrats.

The Centre Party are the only moderate party in the TSR House of Commons , as can be shown by the average scores of the Political Compass test:

But we're more than just a moderate party . We're the party that radically reformed education , and massively curtailed striking . We're the party that produced the first budget whilst in government last year and reformed drugs law to leave recreational drugs legal, taxed and regulated. And we're the party that's made huge strides to efficient environmental protection . Not just any change, but the right kind of change .

Here's what we'll do next term:

•

The Economy: We seek to rebalance the British economy into a more sustainable model. We'll grow engineering and technology within Britain and put us back on the forefront. We will avoid adding crippling taxes and we will reduce the deficit.

•

The Environment: We are strong believers in a lower carbon economy. We make Britain a world class centre of renewables - both onshore and offshore. This will help safeguard the environment and create new, skilled jobs.

•

Civil Liberties: Civil liberties are central to the Centre Party. We will fight tooth and nail against ID cards, we will clamp down on heavy handed policing at protests and we will reduce the number of people in prison for minor and victimless crimes.

The Centre Party – the only moderate choice in the TSR House of Commons.

UKIP - Putting people first

Introduction

TSR UKIP has consistently shown that it can fulfill its manifesto pledges and have made great strides in the previous term in following what we as a party pledged in the last manifesto. We:

TSR UKIP has consistently aimed to fulfill our pledges to voters and we guarantee that we will continue to serve our voters and try to fulfill every pledge. We once again rely on your support to ensure that TSR UKIP can retain its strong presence in the House. We are not just a one policy party and we aim to:

[INDENT] -break large government into smaller ones to allow small businesses to compete for government work

-continue our work on reforming the education and benefits systems

-withdraw from the EU and enter into beneficial trading agreements with Europe

-continue to tax the banks to ensure that they pay their way

- stop aid going to emerging economies and target international aid at local organisations and not at the government level

- support our overseas territories and support their desire to remain part of the UK

We Socialists believe in Liberty, Equality and Justice for all. Where others seek to divide you, carving up the population into petty divisions of race, creed or nation, Socialists stand for all Humankind, united in our struggle for Freedom and Justice for all.

We will introduce a specific tax to be levied on large investment banks, and extensive regulatory powers to be introduced.
We believe that it is unfair that the banking industry make huge profits whilst hundreds of thousands of people live in poverty.

•

We will oppose cuts in NHS expenditure and the closure/privatisation of parts of the NHS.
We believe it is unfair that quality of care suffers when hospitals and surgeries are treated like profit-driven businesses rather than public services.

•

We will provide decent pensions and free social care for older people.
The Socialists believe it to be a travesty that individuals, who had been working and contributing towards the country, be faced by poverty due to an inadequate state pension.

•

We will demand the introduction of a 'Living Wage'.
The Socialist Party aims to make combating poverty one of its chief objectives, and believes that the introduction of a living wage would be a massive step in the right direction with regards to this issue.

•

We will provide free insulation for homes, schools and hospitals.
The Socialist Party aims to introduce a free home insulation programme for all homes that need it, with priority for pensioners and those living in fuel poverty.

Are you tired of the Big Brother state, with excessive CCTV, 14 day detention, restrictive libel laws, soft extradition laws and large restrictions on protest?

Annoyed that people harming no-one else, using drugs can be subjected to a prison term?

Isn't is strange how people can be better off on welfare than in work, leaving them in a poverty trap and us paying for it?

Yes? Vote Libertarian - here's 5 reasons.

We will:

•

Cut & simplify taxes, especially on the poorest, by reducing VAT and scrapping Council Tax.

•

Reduce red tape to ensure that our economy grows, it currently costs businesses £70bn per year.

•

Scrap the surveillance state, by reducing 14 day detention to 48 hours, by stopping funding for CCTV cameras and by removing all innocent people from the DNA database.

•

Legalise brothels - consenting sex between adults is no business of the state. Prostitutes in brothels are less likely to suffer attacks or get STIs.

•

Legalise drugs - stop locking up innocent people, help addicts, stop funding organised crime, reduce petty crime and stop wasting police time. We'll save enough money to reverse the regressive VAT rise.

Libertarian Party? They'll make me safer, richer, cleverer, politically powerful and not spy on me.

A Different Labour... A Different Direction...

Everybody should have an equal chance - but they shouldn't have a flying start - Harold Wilson.

The TSR Labour Party supports this opinion and will act to ensure everyone has a fair and equal opportunity in life, continuing to tackle child poverty, providing increased material support to our hospitals and schools, and prioritising the fight against climate change.

We will:

• Seek to oppose right-wing cuts that hurt ordinary working people and their families; making the burden of deficit reduction unfair.
• Continue to extend opportunities for all to pursue vocational qualifications and fight right-wing block voting that prevents us from doing so.
• Fight privatisation of our railways, hospitals, schools, and essential public services.
• Be the only sensible left-wing alternative on TSR.

Key Accomplishments:

• Successfully opposed the privatisation of the rail network ensuring that Labour's rail upgrades will go ahead.
• Comprehensively devolved powers to England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
• Took great steps in reducing child poverty and its effects: the first bill of its kind on TSR.
• Reorganised bank holidays to give all workers the benefits of holiday entitlement.
• Implemented a system which effectively addresses homelessness, ensuring everyone that wants to help themselves can.

Well done us. We've got the highest attendance record for our MPs compared to everyone else:

Conservatives: 74%
Libertarian: 96%
Labour: 88%
Lib Dem: 78%
Centre Party: 89%
Socialists: 69%
UKIP: 90%

Average: 86%

Addzter (LibDem) has the lowest attendance at 25%.

aaran-j (Con), Teaddict (Con), simontinsley/Annony Mouse (Liber), Annony mouse/Norfolkadam (Liber), ThePants999 (Liber), rockunride (Labour), Eru Iluvatar (LibDem), Seba_Nile (Cen) and Joluk (Cen) had 100% attendance.

UKIP and the Socialists are the only parties to have not a single MP with 100% attendance.

Not a single Socialist voted on the Welfare Bill at the end of the Parliament. It was arguably one of the most important bills in the whole Parliament and none of them could be bothered.

I don't understand why your party won't change it's name then. Become the Social Democrats. Evidentially you don't want to totally dis-associate yourselves with the Westminster Lib Dems.

How long have the Centre Party been using that political compass image? I seem to recall in the MPs political spectrum set up at the start of this ending term they came out somewhat centre-left.
