I was just thinking of which university i should choose! 5 year Kings or 6 year imperial!Imperial is a hefty 80k pounds more in terms of total education tuition fees cost! (I am an international student)

Just need some advice/views. thanks!

Which course do you prefer.
Which uni do you like the look of.
What suits you the most (course structure).
Will the costs outweigh the pros for imps?
If you care about rankings imps is better for generally and currently better thank kcl for med.

If you're asking whether 80k is worth an extra degree, well that's a personal choice isn't it (bloody well isn't to me!)

If you're asking whether an MBBS from Imperial trumps an MBBS from King's, then no it doesn't - they're all considered equal in the UK.

I can vouch for how well structured the course is at Imperial, but then equally a GKT student could do the same for GKT. It's all personal preference at the end of the day! I'd suggest having a good look at both prospectuses; this thread on the pros and cons of different med schools might also help. I'd also recommend visiting them both though evidently this may be impractical.

Although I'd personally go with Imperial (as a home student), I think you should go for the option that suits you best. Whether that's due to your own personal views or financial constraints.

I think it's obvious you want to pick Imperial (otherwise you wouldn't have made this thread, it seems the only con you have concerning Imperial is the extra funding required). But, then again, 80k is tonnes of money.

Anyway: if you can afford/deal with choosing Imperial and paying the extra money, then do it (if you think you'd enjoy the next 6 years of your life better). I'm sure many international students have picked Imperial despite the additional funding required. However, going to medical school X will not put you at an advantage/disadvantage when applying for foundation posts etc. once you've graduated.

It's all up to you really (sorry, I couldn't be of much help :P)

Imperial doesn't do anatomy?! As in ... Imperial medical students don't learn about anatomy?! I'm so confused by this statement :s-smilie: I'm not sure Imperial graduates would do as well without learning about anatomy ...

Do you mean: they don't do an intercalated BSc in Anatomy?!
