Fe 2+ ---> Fe 3+ + e-

Cr2O7 2- + 14H+ + 6e- ---> 2Cr 3+ + 7H2O

THEREFORE: 6Fe 2+ + Cr2O7 2- + 14H+ ---> 2Cr 3+ + 6Fe 3+ + 7H2O

That's how you get your ratio.

do you get a mark writing the equation coz i didnt finish the calc

Defiantly, probably two marks since it isn't really the most easiest equation. :smile:

If I put sulfur reacts with oxygen producing blue light and a colourless gas produced, will that get me the marks?

No, it's colourless. Check pg 188 Nelson Thornes.

''... it burns with a blue flame to form the colourless gas sulfur dioxide''
