A-Level options
I'm currently choosing Psychology, English Literature, Biology and Maths as my A-Level courses and I don't really know what job I want to do when I'm older, would these courses be suitable as general choices?
Honestly speaking, they look only suitable for a psychology degree or those less-popular degrees that universities also offer. Although, you could be given offers for many other related areas seeing as you're doing biology. If you're not sure what career you want to go in to, have you got any ideas on a field of work such as finance or science-related? If not you could pick general facilitating subjects, the ones you picked aren't too bad.

You could get into many degree's, you could go into psychology - neuropsychology if that's your thing (and you're really smart) sociology/criminology, english Lit, Creative writing, could even do pharmacy ( I knew a girl who did psy, sociology and biology who got into pharmacy) accountancy - although I think they prefer you do further maths as well I'm not too sure.
Like the previous poster said, if you're not sure, go to a career adviser, do some online quiz' I presume you're in year 11/12. LOTS of people have no idea what they're going to do Many change their mind/do different degrees. I know I did. I went from criminology to MH nursing so you have lots of time to figure it out. Once you get really involved in your A level subjects you'll find more things you find interesting which will shape your choice.

I was thinking of going into scientific journalism, but that would require me to cover all three sciences I think, and Biology is the only science I really like. Considering that I'm aiming for Oxford and Cambridge Universities, I wanted to make sure that my options now are secure. Thank you!

I spoke to my careers adviser at school and she didn't really help. She said that I can do anything in A-Levels then decide what I want to specialise in later, however the universities I'm aiming for may not accept my application if my options are to broad, if that makes sense. Thank you!

Think about the degree you want to do at Oxbridge, then look at the subjects they prefer, usually top universities are strict on the courses that a-level candidates can pick.
