I am a huge fan of both and know lots in each genre. Theres so many good songs and bands that it would help if you had some examples or a style within each genre

Handsworth Revolution is a masterpiece.
I love ska. My parents always played it in the car so it's always been in my life but I've just started to get really into it lately.
