Have fun.
Don't overthink your outfit or what you need to bring.
Choose the music genre you enjoy most, and go to a festival that covers it.

EG: for me, it's trance, so fortunately, there's lots to choose from:
Top 3:
Aug 4-6: Anomaly Summer of Love Festival, Birmingham
Aug 24-27: Creamfields Festival, Warrington (has Trance stages and other dance music)
Sept 30: RONG Indoor Festival, Manchester
Take your own loo roll, hand sanitizer. Take a refillable water bottle.
Make friends with the people camped near you.
Don’t take anything you don’t want to lose/break/get muddy
Anything you forget you can probably buy but it will be more expensive.
Comfy footwear. Have fun!

Going to latitude, reggae land (day festival) and beautiful days with my family this year 😎
Have been going to festivals for longer than I care to say as it reminds me I’m old.
Don't compromise on everything your friends/family want to do. Go off on your own to see things if there's something you want to see that no one else is interested in.

Save up so you can afford to buy food and drink as much as possible instead of stressing about carrying in food and cooking equipment or smuggling in drinks

I need to book train tickets (from London) for Reading Festival Aug 24-27 (weekend camping, no early entry) - any advice on train times? I've no idea how early to get there.
Nor which train to book on 27th
