If I may add my two cents, the accommodation at UCL was lack luster but accommodation in central London is a steal at £150 a week, specially for south Kensington and Bloomsbury. I doubt you'll ever have that rent in London ever again in your life, plus taking into account whether you'll be able to afford to live there again unless you're a multimillionaire (more relevant for south Kensington than Bloomsbury but I digress)

Ultimately the feel of a university is extremely important, as you'll spend 3/4 years of your life there.it's why some people choose Cambridge over oxford or vice versa, or why some people don't apply to London unis or only apply to them etc...

That said, UCL is an excellent university with great prospects for students with great staff. Don't throw it away just yet, think about it at least a bit.

Hey, i just got an offer from UCL for Msci Earth Sciences, for AAA, i am doing 4 A2 coures, predicted A*AAA, after looking through the forum i noticed that most people got offers for AAB for the same course has me and for geophysics, i am wondering why they gave me a high offer.

That is surprising, is there anything that you think might make UCL want to give you a more difficult offer? What were your AS grades? Do you go to a private school?

It could be that your a levels perhaps are less scientific. What are you taking?

possibly but i have geography and chemistry and they say they want two sciences and they take geography has a science, on the offer they said they specifically want the A's in geography and chemistry, as well has my another subject, they did not say anything about the fourth a level.

It clearly sounds like one! Well done! This is from Royal Holloway? I am still veary regarding going there.

I'd say that's probably why. Geography is probably the least important (in my view) and supposedly 'easier' in comparison to other sciences. Mine was AAB but I'm doing four sciences at A2. Where else did you apply?

Probably, but i see geography has a good physical science aswell as a social science, the word means writing about the Earth, it does cover topics such has plate tectonics and other geomorphology topics, but it is a easy A-level.

I understand where you're coming from as the subjects are the basis of earth science except they do teach from basics as they assume no prior knowledge.

Which is your first choice?

With all due respect, I really don't think you can call Geography A-Level a physical science!

I understand what you are saying but i would have to disagree with you 100%, geography is a physical and social science because those are the two things that make up all studies about the world and the people that live on it, sure it is not the most complex subject but it does draw many similarities with studies in Earth sciences. It is classified as a natural science by many universities and official websites, for example the QS world university ranking site, puts geography under natural sciences.
