Yeah I have and I got an offer fairly quickly, about 2 weeks after applying, but I guess they might wait until all the applications are in before giving any more out...

Thanks. Got my acknowledgement email exactly 2 weeks ago. Hopefully I get an offer. What's your firm?
I just got an offer for Msci Geology at Exeter, AAB, I'm so happy
Just got my final offer from Liverpool
I've got all 5 of my offers back now and am struggling to choose! I think my favourites so far are Exeter and Royal Holloway, both for Masters and both have offered ABB. Also had offers from Bristol (AAA), Cardiff (ABB) and Plymouth (Unconditional).

Anyone got any advice/tips?

Congrats! I just got one as well but for Applied Geology. Do you think you'll accept it?

Go with the one you think you'd be happiest at. Bristol is probably the most 'prestigious' out of those choices but to be honest they're all very good places, I don't think you'd be making a mistake by choosing any of them. I don't know a lot about any of them though other than that my friend really wants to go to Exeter.
Hi everyone!

I've applied to do Environmental Science/Geoscience at
Bristol AAA (integrated masters with study abroad)
Durham AAA
Leeds A*AA (integrated masters with study abroad)
St. Andrews (AAB)
York ABB

I've got offers from four of them but I'm still waiting for St. Andrews

At the moment I'm thinking that Bristol will be my firm choice with maybe St. Andrews as my insurance (if I get an offer)

Although I love Durham and Leeds too, especially the idea of the year abroad so I keep changing my mind!!

I was just wondering whether you've been to both the Bristol and Leeds applicant/open days because I went to the one in Leeds and I loved it so now I'm caught between having Bristol or Leeds as my firm.

Well done. You're still going to choose Imperial?

That is exactly the situation I was in! I really did love the department at Leeds and the open day, as well as the course choice. At the moment I'm going with Bristol because I feel that I prefer the university and the city and still really like the course (although not as much choice as Leeds). I'm still kind of in between, I really love that both have year abroad options.
what course are you applying for?

Yeah that's why I'm caught between Leeds and Bristol too because I really want to spend a year abroad.
I applied for geosciences with a year abroad at both unis.

I'm going to the applicants day in Bristol soon so hopefully after going there I'll be able to make up my mind but it's such a hard decision.

Hi guys, I've just been asked to come for an interview at Imperial for Geophysics!
I've been reading through this thread and quite a few of you have already had yours. Can anyone give me any advice for the day? Any tips for the interview? I need it!

Thank you!

Hello! Well done for getting your interview. I'm not sure there's a lot I can say that I've not written already, but I'll just reiterate the main points. The whole day is run pretty informally - if you've attended one of the Earth Sciences open days, it's pretty much a complete repeat of that (apart from the interview, obviously). In my interview, I had two interviewers - a geophysicist and a geologist who more or less alternated with the questions. I wasn't asked any particularly technical questions but I certainly was asked some thought provoking questions based on my EPQ and reading mentioned in my personal statement, so definitely make sure that you've read everything you've claimed to have read and that you've actually thought about it. It might be worth very quickly revising some basic maths and physics stuff because I can't promise that they won't ask you any of those questions. Apart from that, there were also a couple of general geology questions that didn't really require any kind of specialist knowledge (I see you've taken A level Geography so you'll be fine with those). If there's anything else you want to know (within reason obviously, I'm not going to help you cheat!) just ask. Good luck! When is the interview?

I noticed that I didn't reply to your question a month ago about Southampton. It's probably too late now but just in case it isn't, I talked about the topic of my EPQ, the Anthropocene. It wasn't the most brilliantly prepared presentation I've ever given because I tried to pack far too much information into the five minutes. A concise presentation is definitely not a bad idea! I also noticed that we had a little 'argument' half a year ago about the oil industry. Are you still planning to go into petroleum?

Probably already been said but just prepare some some rough answers for the why geophysics and why Imperial questions. Past that just be yourself they wont ask you anything you shouldn't know.
