I think people are confusing "we should have more people in politics who are not straight white men" with "we should not have any more straight white men in politics", which are not the same thing.
What utter drivel.

"If it's truly progressive, Labour will have voted in a female leader - regardless of her policies."

LOL! So voting for Liz Kendall, a Blairite, is somehow more 'progressive' than voting for Jeremy Corbyn, a socialist?

I understand the relevance of identity politics but it can be so petty and divisive at times.

In all fairness, I didn't see a single comment on either article that wasn't mocking the authors

That is true. I was referring to the media

The left complain over anything, and if they don't get their way, they turn violent and rabid

Well the unions have made clear they will bring the country to a standstill, the violence is to come.

I’m sick of this identity politics BS.

The content of a person’s idea is more important than their identity.

It’s a shame that the left are so obsessed with identity politics, I’ve become more right wing because of this obsession.

I think you will find stupid people in every political sphere. No need for unhelpful generalised bashing
I don't think "the Left" is complaining at all about having Corbyn as leader and McDonnell as shadow Chancellor.

There's plenty of complaining from people from different parts of the political spectrum.

However what is interesting is that since Corbyn has been around there has been a lot of talk from the non-traditional left about the problems of anti-Semitism and the lack of opportunities for women in top positions.

Perhaps now we can be agreed that mainstream politics firmly opposes attacking particular racial groups and thinks that there should be far more representation of woman in high-up positions, we will see how strong the political representatives from the centre and right are at advancing these positions as it is what their supporters are demanding.

The left have a knack for protesting and rioting so I won't count on it. They go on protest everyday nowadays, I am surprised if anyone listens to them now, I don't know anyone who does.
You can't please everyone, and you can never please crazy feminists. It is there ideology to complain.
Just to think, loads of the people who rag on The Daily Mail for being a dirt rag for morons read The Guardian, without seeing the irony. Perhaps some of them will begin to finally get it. Though given that Guardianistas are some of the most closed-minded idiots in society I wouldn't count on it............

Both are hardly impartial but can you really imagine the Guardian running articles like the Mail did against Miliband/Corbyn? I've never seen anything of the sort.
