year 9 student

whats a GOOD level to end year 9 with? is it important to get 8c-8a or can you get like 5c-6c but still get like a grade 7(A)
and whats the minimum you need to get for you to be able to do triple science
my current levels:
maths : 7a-8c
science:6a-7c
English:6c
Rs:7c
history:6a
geography: 4c (you are welcomed to laugh)

so with these levels do think that i would be able to do the harder exams or do i need level 8 , my teacher said if you are aiming to get an 8(A**) YOU NEED TO GET ATLEAST 8C is that true

it depends on the skl/college (whtever u call it) ur going to, there's different expectations nd u need maths and science to get into the triple science, which you have, so i think you'll be fine.
I'm doing triple science and honestly i regret it, theres just so much work and theory you need to know nd you have your other options to deal with too. I've also heard tht you dont even need to do triple science to get into a job such as pharmacy or doctor! i was so gutted ahahaha

anyways, you decide, it is up to you in the end

Regarding the triple science bit, it may depend on the school. I think it's usually a 6 though.
Honestly, your year 9 grades don't matter too much considering you have 2 years until the main exams. I think I mainly got 5's in year 9 and I'm doing fine
Hi there!

A decent level to end all subjects on is your target grade. If you hit it/ are above it, you absolutely don't need to worry

As a Y10 student, I can tell you that grades don't matter when it comes to choosing your options. All your levels are incredibly good, anyway, so it won't matter what you take because I can tell you'll ace it! Thankfully you don't require any level to do Triple Science. For the minimum grade, I'd say around a 6c.

Remember, all your past levels don't matter at GCSE. As long as you put the effort in when doing the GCSE course (from Y10 onwards), you'll be fine. All your previous years of high school are merely warm-ups, and you'll be learning completely different stuff at GCSEs anyway. I can confirm this as I'm doing Maths, English, R.E, Triple Science, Geography, Computer Science and French, and honestly, the only subjects you need past knowledge about is English, Maths and languages. You are excelling in everything, so once again you won't need to worry!

I'm afraid what your teacher said isn't completely true. Like I explained earlier, your past levels don't matter in GCSEs. They merely provide the basis for your targets, which many schools make a fuss of but they really aren't anything major because the majority of people go past them anyways. Your performance at GCSE is the real important thing here, so if you are getting around Grade 7-8 at a subject in your GCSEs then you are practically set!

Whilst it's handy to have a high level if you want to get A**, a level 8c doesn't mean that you're guaranteed to get an A**. Only around Y10 will the school truly give you an idea of what you should be aiming for.

Hope this helps! <3
I think ks3 grades don't reallly correspond with gcse's tbh. Well coming from my experience. Don't they care more about your sat's then ks3 grades iiiidddkkkk

They're probably just trying to make you work hard
Your grades are really good btw. Just keep working hard throughout year 10 and 11 and you'll be fine.

I wouldn't take your teacher's advice on what's needed to get a certain grade, I would just focus on what you can achieve. Personally, I got between a Grade C to B by the end of Year 9 which is equivalent to a Level 7/8 but then again each person have a different ability. What I'll say is this, if you're willing to work hard and put in the effort, I'm sure you'll get the GCSE results you want.

If you haven't already chosen your options for GCSEs, I would highly recommend taking History over Geography simply based on the grades so far however should you want to do Geography, I would get the support from your teacher to boast the grades so that your ready for GCSE Geography.

For engineering, you should defo need Physics which is an easy Science subject if you get the hang of using the different equations and understand the topics. You would require Chemistry if you want to specialise in chemical engineering but not necessarily Biology from what I know. Maths would also be vital.

I would use the PEE/PEARS or COPRU structure depending on the question to answer it. After doing a past paper for History in one of the units, look at the mark scheme as you'll be able to see what the exam board required to get a certain mark.
