UBS 2016 Industrial Placement questions

Hello everyone ,

My application has been transferred to a HR one and I got an invitation to an assessment centre on 31st March. I had originally applied for something else but HR is fine because the skills I'lol get there will still help me with the graduate role I want. However, I know very little about HR.

So, my questions are;

1. Has anyone worked with UBS? How is the firm?
2. Can anyone give me detail of what HR actually entails?
3. Does anyone know how much UBS pay for their placement year, particularly in HR ?
4. Is anyone going to this Assessment centre?
5. It's my first AC, anyone got advice ?

1 - UBS has an amazing culture, everyone is extremely friendly and willing to help. They have a career focused culture and so would aim to mentor you and help shape you to succeed, imo one of the best cultures out there in the industry
2 - HR has many different sub divisions, you can work anywhere from a generalist role to a specialist role - you probably should ask them this in the AC
3 - Not certain but for HR at a top bank like UBS I assume around £30k pro rota
4 - n/a
5 - Enjoy it, you've done extremely well to get this far. Interviews are a two way conversation, you should be learning more about them whilst they are learning more about you so ask questions to learn more about them and find out whether you actually would want to work for them/that role. Group task - don't talk too much and dominate the project, but make sure you share your views. It doesn't matter if you don't complete the task it's about how you interact with others in a team. Presentation - make sure you understand everything you talk about as they may ask you to expand on something/explain something that you've mentioned and it would look bad if you can't. Also practice the online tests as they may ask you to retake them

For the first 3 questions I am not entirely sure how accurate my answers are.. but hopefully everything I've said helps and answers your questions! Good luck!
