i s2g i'll probably mess up like this on the exam as well cause im such a ditz

It's just natural night-before-the-exam panic getting to you  In tomorrow's exam you'll probably forget about the occasion a couple of questions in and be working fine!

it tells you that x<8/9.

So you can take out 1000 from under the cube root sign leaving you with
10 cube root 7.1

Then 7.1= 8-9x
Solve for x=0.1
Sub 0.1 into your previous expansion and times by 10

In summary you need your x to be small, so you make that possible using the method above. P.S the mark scheme for this question has an error

Thanks! I thought it did, i was staring at it for ages!

THANKS and finally (I promise....) to get an A*, do you need an A* in each of C3 and C4 separately, or is it an Average of A* across both C3 C4? I think I remember my teacher saying you need an A* separately in both units?

180 UMS or more combined from C3 and C4. Could be 90/90, 89/91, 100/80 etc.

After the C3 exam, this is a distant dream :frown: Unless the grade boundaries are like 57 for an A lol... :/
Any predictions on what could potentially come up tomorrow?

my maths teacher told me that you have to get 90 ums in both c3 and c4 to get an a* (along with 480 ums total)

Questions from the international paper were really simmilar for c3.
I'd suggest looking at them for c4 too.
They are no's: 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 12, 13.

What I've said above is 100% correct, and 90/90 is a case of that. There is no requirement to get above 90 in both modules, as long as you get 180 or more in total. If you're not convinced - my results are below:

Spoiler

Im dreading this exam
