What are your thoughts when people say British Pakistanis must 'integrate' more compared to other minorities (Sihks, Chinese, Indians etc.)?

Ummm... I think it is true as we originated from a combination of Who are know Indians so we have similar genetics. Howeve I don't think we are as similar as people believe we are despite our similarities as we have been seperate for a while now and have many different practices and culture. Interesting question! 👏
Are you going to marry your cousin from Dadyal?

Also, Why are most British Pakistanis living repressed lives?

My cousins not from Dadyal...lol I love how that was the first place that came to ur mind! But I won't marry my cousin anyway.... And I think that most British Pakistanis aren't only living depressed as 1 in 3/4 people suffer depression in the Uk! I personally love the Uk but this is just a fact. Hope u got ur answer.

I only asked because I work with some British Kashmiris who always talk about Dadyal.

Also, repressed, not depressed. The guys I work with cant even talk to women at all. They blame it on their upbringing which forbids them from talking to the opposite sex at an early age so they dont develop the social skills. This i see daily at work in British Kashmiris

Sorry about that... yh I think that's true because I myself am soooo awkward around guys and I think this may be a cultural reason and religion (majority of Pakistanis r Muslim) as u r not meant to talk to the opposite sex as it leads to temptation and desire. So to stop that from happening I think some Pakistani parents do restrain a lot of freedom and social skills within their children to prevent any risks. However there are some (I like to think) parents that aren't that strict and although marrying your cousin is a thing, it has decreased a little.

I myself am sort of religious and I think 3 of my friends are religious but it depends what u class religious as (i.e. 1)Praying 5 times, reciting the Quran and going to mosque 2)Praying 5 times a day, reciting the Quran and being good to people 3) Praying 5 times a day)
Quran says that:

5/Al-Ma'idah-51:
"O you who believe (who wish to reach Allah before death)! Do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends. They are the friends of each other. And whoever amongst you turns to them (takes them for a friend), then surely he is one of them. Surely Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.

If you agree with that then why do you live in a Christian country with Christians and other non-Muslims people ? If you don't agree with that then you can accept that book is a biased one, right ?

Right away, I’d like to establish that there is no problem with Muslims keeping casual friendships and cordial acquaintances with people of different faiths, as long as those people do not oppose or dislike Islam and Muslims, do not engage in or wrongly influence Muslims towards immoral behaviour, and are not unjust and oppressive to anyone, especially Muslims. This is established by the words of Allah Most High Himself when He says: “Allah does not forbid you from showing kindness and dealing justly with those who have not fought you due to your faith or driven you out of your homes. Allah loves those who deal justly. Allah only forbids you from those people that fought you because of your faith, drove you out of your homes and helped in your expulsion, that you take them as intimate associates. And whosoever takes them as intimate associates, then it is they who are the wrongdoers.” [al-Quran, 60:8-9]
The thing is the Arabic language has many words which are similar and are thus misinterpreted. As a result, there are many different interpretations of certain messages. In addition, some words in the Quran cannot be properly translated (as there are some words in Arabic which aren't in English).
I hope this has cleared all of ur misunderstanding regarding this verse.

Bloody hell that's a high barrier to be considered religious 😂

I was curious as out of the Pakistani people in my friend group just 1 is religious and his standards of being religious is not drinking nor watching porn
I’m a british Pakistani and tbh I think marrying your cousins is NOT GOOD but it’s your choice ig ... I don’t want any issues in my child and want the best for them! I’m not religious though, like praying 5 times a day and I recently finished the Quran in Arabic which I don’t understand so I’m now reading in English. I guess reading in Arabic sounds beautiful but understanding it is much more advisiable coz duh. I find it weird when people label you coz from my POV we are all humans and having to have names for your own appearance is pointless and in a cruel way dividing people to make ourselves feel precious like cmon -_- anyway wherever my home is is where I’m from and wanna be more specific that’d be my mum😂🥤

Lol😂 I mean if you have time for all of that great??! But I definitely don’t have time for that unless it was a Muslim country you’d have time for that but I don’t think u can be religious if ur living else where coz whose got time for that😂

I’m a british Pakistani and I’d like to say that they must have grown up with some high expectations like jeez.. ain’t like that but I guess that’s their choice and why’re they even blaming their upbringing, if they think it’s something they are having to do and they do it then wouldn’t they be proud? I’m so curious to ask this but idk them 😬😂
