Extenuating Circumstances Help

For the past few years I have been subject to severe abuse due to my household situation. This impacted my study severely and I went from being an all A* student at GCSE with high A2 predictions and 4 offers from Medical School, to failing my A-Levels and missing my offers.Although I got into my insurance option of Pharmacy I have decided to resit in order to follow my initial career path as I am very much still invested in Medicine.After speaking with my school about the situation they told me I should apply and they can explain the situation fully in my reference. However when I emailed medical schools some told me they would need evidence of the situation, however I am not sure what physical evidence I should obtain and how to go about this? Please let me know what you think.
