Who got 5000 for the MB?

That sounds right to me
I totally blanked on what virtual memory is can anyone explain??
other than that I was so happy the 8 marker was so easy
now I just gotta hope for the best on paper 2 cos I always do so bad on that one
I put that a virtual network is a software based network which shares its hardware with other networks as its split into smaller networks. Is this right ?
can't be using 'lmao' in your english either
Original post by Ad4mmm_
No it isn’t lmao

And based on your spelling of ‘ment’ you might want to revise for wednesday
needed to be length - 1 as the count started at 0. Length would have one to many iterations.

For the pseudocode one, should the first answer have been length or length-1?
For the 2 extra examples of utility software I wrote
- encryption software
- backup utility
SO HARD
that for loop caught me out im so used to python for loops like "i for i in range(0, 5)" because that goes from 0 to 4 :/

Was the tick box question one box at a time only? I did it like that :/
what did you guys put for the layer question?
For the 5 marker on IP, URLs and Web servers did anyone else just describe how DNS works?

i did
If its the RAM and ROM tick boxes. You could select one or more. Only the top option should have both ticked.

basically yeah, just subbed in URL

u can get away with not calling it a client server relationship if u have enough other points,
your points are somewhat valid but also somewhat obscurred.
i believe u would get atleast half marks as u have a decent description of the process
Original post by tellizard
did u have to say it was a client server realationship??
i put:
the "https" denotes that the protocol to get the data from the ip is hypertext transfer protocol secure
ocr.org.uk or whatever is the domain which will be sent to the domain name server in a request to get the ip
if the dns server has the ip its returned to the client
if the dns doesnt have the ip then a dns miss occured and the dns server requests from a larger dns server for the ip
then that ip is returned to the client (and the ip is added to the smaller dns)
then the client uses the ip to make a get request to the webserver
the webserver processes the request and returns the webpage
Stuff i can remember, currently im missing out some questions/marks if people can let me know what i missed I can create a guess at a mark scheme:

1- Fill in blanks on CPU (5 marks)
2- Why having dual cores is better (2 marks)
3- Why having more cache is better (2 marks)
4- RAM/ROM tickboxes (5 marks)
5- Example of Solid State device and primary or secondary storage (2 marks)
6- Solid State vs optical (8 marks)
7- GB -> MB conversion (2 marks)
8- File management uses (3 marks)
9- Compression (4 marks)
10- Utility software two examples (2 marks)
11- Embedded system Smartwatch v laptop and why (3 marks)
12- ASCII pseudocode fill in gaps + how to print out (6 marks)
13- Star topology diagram (3 marks)
14- Use of a switch (2 marks)
15- Why is it bad if get into confidential files (3 marks)
16- protecting on a network (4 marks)(i think? or was it 3?)
17- protocols (4 marks)
18- IP address/URL/webserver (5 marks)
19- Why use layers (3 marks)
20- How encryption works (2 marks)(I think? or was it 3?)
21- Why good for environment to release game online (2 marks)
22- Why proprietary is better than open source (2 marks)
23- Difference between RAM and flash (1 mark)

This is not in order
This is not them all, if the marks i have stated are correct it adds up to 75 so I am missing 5 marks of questions
Original post by swagdonyt
Hey if anyone can write down the questions they remember i can write down most guaranteed answers so that we can form an unofficial mark scheme
