OCR computer science coursework

I'm currently in Year 11 but I wanted to get ahead of the coursework and potentially start it in the summer after my GCSEs, but I was wondering whether I could make my own interpreter (programming language) and if this would fill all the necessary criteria required by OCR? I would make it on python and it would have lots of fundamental functions needed for programming languages. If anyone knows that'd be great thanks

Before starting the NEA, you would need A Level computer science knowledge. In our school, A level computer science students started the NEA at the start of year 13. Ultimately, you would need to follow your teacher’s advice - as they would be marking it.
