conversion within the metric system

hello there,

I'm struggling to convert between the metric system units, for example how would you convert 6 micrometers to cm? Is there any standard form method which I could use (6.00 x 10^-6 / (1 x 10^-3)) or something ?

Thank you so much for your time and effort
do you need to convert?, as 6 micro metres is already in the same reference scale as centi metres (referred to the ISO/bipm metre)

6 micrometres = 0.000006 metres, = 0.0006 centimetres

(Check my maths!)

And the metre was recently redefined, away from the 1875 platinum rod type idea, to real physics

Close.

6μm6\mu m is 6×106m6\times 10^{-6}m

1m1m is 10210^2 cm.

So, 6μm6\mu m becomes 6×106×102cm6\times 10^{-6} \times 10^2 cm
