What are the best A-levels for anthropology?

I'm hoping to apply for an anthropology course at UCL and a social anthropology course at LSE.So far I've picked English lit and French but I'm not sure what to pick for my third.
I can't choose between sociology, history or biology. I haven't done sociology before but I got 9s in the other two. I've heard history is highly respected but I wasn't that keen on the GCSE and I struggled a fair bit with bio.

I would love to hear any thoughts on this :smile:

For Anthropology (like many Arts/Humanities degrees) there are usually no specified A level subjects, however a background in Humanities and/or Social Sciences will a) show you if you actually want to study more in this area and b) give you useful background knowledge. Sociology, Religion and History are the more relevant subjects - Biology only of you want to do Biological or Forensic Anthropology at Uni.

Hello! My background is in the social sciences with 8 eights years + lecturing experience.

Anthropology / social anthropology is a fascinating course to do, however, as with all the social science's courses out there it is worth considering what your action plan is for after University. I got a 1st in Sociology and got a very cynical look at the job centre after graduating. I would strongly advise doing a post graduate course that specialises in a particular job role afterwards such as social work or teaching, or employment possibilities are quite limited. I did that, and then later did an MSc in Psychology to expand my portfolio and got access to lots of funding for my student support role.

In terms of A levels there is no specific path for anthropology, but I think Sociology would be the best. Biology is a great A level to have, but it isn't matched up as clearly
