    Cot-ham and Cabot (it wouldn't have a silent T, Cabot is a name I've seen all around the south-west and all locals refer to such places as with a T. God knows why)

    My mum lived in Bristol when she was younger and i think cabot was the name of something else first, and she said then it had a silent t. Having said that, I think you'd get a few funny looks if you left it off now...
    Most taxi drivers/bus drivers say cott-ham when I've told them where i want to go, so i have started saying it that way!
