HOLIDAYS: Where do YOU think is best for a fun, relaxing and inexpensive holiday?

My boyfriend and I (we're aged 19 and 18) are hoping to go away together on a short holiday before the Uni term starts in October.

Some pointers....

We live in the South of England with good transport links

We want somewhere not too busy but still with interesting stuff to do

3-4 nights

We've about £500 to spend between us

Somewhere with potential for romance would be awesome :p:

So where would you recommend? Sensible suggestions!

Cheers guys

Why not fly? I just booked flights for £40 each way.
Benidorm!
Antwerp as a base ... trips to brugge, gent, brussels, breda, zeeland ... etc.
Antwerp is a great city to stay in..

East Europe is very cheap and you can spend a few nice days there
Thanks for the suggestions guys !

I love Belgium- that's definitely an option! Can speak some French which would be handy.

It can be abroad- and to be honest, that's not necessarily any more expensive is it?
Just not too far and to a place where they speak French or lots of people can speak some English

Any more ideas / details?
Paris is a nice place, but too busy for our liking.
I went there a few weeks ago and ended up lost in the balieues/ suburbs. Wasn't nice!!

They don't have any bloody road markings in the suburbs either. Absolutely ridiculous.

OP: French youth hostels aren't too bad. Around <£15 a night too.
The pub round the corner from my house. You can crash in my shed. :fyi:

Inside UK.
Bournemouth.

Cheap by english standards. Beaches are great. Lots of shops.

100% Mogadishu. Cheapest place going and you can spend a good few months close together as you are captured by Islamic Militants.

And nothing is more romantic then both forcibly denouncing the Western powers influence in the world on camera with AK47s aimed at your head.
