No, where do people hear this, an 18 month Dentistry degree? You would become a dentist quicker than a dental student. Think about it.

Fraid not.
No - there are shortened degrees for doctors who retrain to become dentists but not for dental hygienists.

Hi,
Just a quick question so if anyone has any idea it would help loads.
Are you able to take part in a dental hygiene and dental therapy course for the three years, then after this complete an 18 month course to become a dentist?
I noticed it here on TSR- http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=1135043 (scaredofuni mentions it)
It was something i had never thought of before..
Anyone any help?
Thanks

The admissions lady at Glasgow for therapy seems to think that the first three years of dentistry are the same as the three years of therapy. But she says you cannot go on to do dentistry after at all.

I don't see how it could possibly be the same considering the entry requirements differ so much, but there you go.
