Using other universities' libraries?

I was just wondering if it was possible for me to use another uni's library during the holidays since my uni is 6 hours away. I've looked into the Sconul Access scheme which would allow me to use the library but apparently I would require a card from my uni to allow me to do but since I'm already back home I'm unable to fill the form in and get the card.

Would the uni allow me to use it if I just show my university library card upon entry? I only want to use books for reference, I don't want to take them out.

Any advice would be helpful especially regarding University of Southampton libraries.

Yes, but I wouldn't get a reply till tomorrow if I was lucky and was planning on trying and going tomorrow. Thought TSR might have some idea before I phone them tomorrow.
