I know about tomorrow's deadline so I think a lot of the reserves will be allocated after then. Congratulations on getting a role - you'll be a great role model for us over 50's!

I too am over 50 and did an acting recall audition. Now on the reserve list. Seems like us 'mature' people fit into this group the best. Shame, as I keep fit and have stamina and could run around and make formations!!!!!!!

Hi everyone,

I've been lurking on this forum for a bit and thought I'd finally join in. Received my reserve email on the 20th Jan after my drumming audition on 20th Nov sadly. Would have been good to have a definite 'yes' or 'no' although I'd probably be more devastated with a 'no'. So back to waiting around again.

Anyways, congrats to everyone who's got a 'yes'. And to those still waiting or on 'reserve'...I'm with you. lol
Hi everyone,

I accepted the offer last thursday (and sent an email attachment with signed copies and sent hard copies in the post) but I havent received an email back confirming they have received everything. So i sent another email to cast coordinator for my segment saying that i would be grateful if they could confirm they have received everything- but still no reply. I am just a little bit concerned/worried (as the deadline for acceptance is tomorrow), so does anyone know what number to ring? xx

I havent either - though I'm not too worried, as they didnt say they would confirm and lots of people on here I think also havent confirmations. I did click on the "Accept here" button twice - to be sure! - and the second time it did come up as "You have already accepted."

Me too Mandy!

Sounds like we were in the same audition - was it the morning one?

Did you notice that most of the people were over 30, an older crowd?

I'm 38 btw.

Keep positive!! :colondollar:

Another day, another e-mail no show, sigh. Once again had a false alarm when the ticketing people e-mailed. At least I had some distraction in the form of a long complicated DNA extraction to do. Plus Uni term has started so all my clubs are up and running again. I do trampolining, gospel choir and ultimate frisbee along with two non-Uni choirs so I keep pretty busy!

I kinda think people may be right and that they are waiting until after the 31st. Whether that's because they are busy processing acceptances and/or waiting to see what gaps are created by "nos" I don't know.

Welcome - I'll add you to my big list of people. One question - did you get the 'Don't Worry, We haven't forgotten you' mail a week or so ago?

And I've added you too! Did you get the 'Don't Worry' mail? Just that there is/was a bit of a theory around who got that mail.

Thanks

Hi Flakeydom no I didn't get the 'Don't worry email'!

Yes I got the email on 19th January - think they have forgotten me though! What's the theory?

Its a golden ticket! Likely a placard bearer in the athlete parade (e.g carrying the sign saying "Denmark". Right at the centre of the action - a likely close up on TV and not too much to learn! Probably the best role going - well done!
woo, got my team gb bracelet.

They emailed me to confirm they have my acceptance email and they look forward to meeting me. I haven't checked they have my forms. Surely they must have... Do we need to check?

Hi guys.

I haven't been on here for a long time but just to say that I did get an email on 20.01.12

I am in segment 63 Group A for closing ceremony.

:-)

Good luck if people are still waiting.

Same date and same Section as me. Look forward to seeing you at rehearsals

ecstatic2012 got that one too - great job!

MumofStudents - basically, some of us got the 'Don't Worry' mail and some of us didn't. Of those who didn't get the mail, all but one are now reserves and she got an offer the very next day so might just have been timing. Of those who did get the mail, well, some of them got places last week but the 'reserves' last week hadn't had the 'Don't Worry' mail. Of course, there are still quite a few 'Don't Worry' who are now worried because they haven't heard so we're not entirely sure how valid the theory is and possibly clutching at straws.

I was at that audition - in the first group.

Hey there,

I was in in that audition as well and received my offer to be in Group 44C on January 16th: "Character/movement and utility role in spectacular sequence in Opening Ceremony"! I'm really interested to know what "utility role" means!
By the way,

I have also been stalking this forum for some time . What a great community feel!

I scanned my acceptance and have not heard back, but I am not concerned. To be honest, I would be quite shocked if they just blatantly disregarded those people who pressed the acceptance button on their email, but whose forms they have not received. It much much more sense from a project management perspective that they would follow up with you first before removing you from the ceremony altogether.

For those still waiting...good luck and keep us posted!

ha ha totally glad its not just me then! i did my first hip hop based class in years a few days before my recall audition - to Rihanna's S&M - pretty fast. VERY hard. Some people actually gave up and sat at the back and watched. Just had to tell myself to forget about my ego, not freak out and concentrate.... it DID help wtih the audition though. Right... feeling inspired by your positive example Caroline27! Must get to class this week....

Funny, I had my recall audition coming up, and also had an instinct to try some hip hop classes (the teacher taught us exactly the same hotstepping routine that was used in the recall audition - so I was quite lucky, still found it difficult). Apparently you need 10,000 hours of practice to excel at something, but I reckon after weekly 5 hour rehearsals we'll be whacking, krumping and spinning on our heads. Though in the recall audition I kept going wrong with the 'stirring' moves to the right and left - the real dad dancing bit - so I think I have a way to go.

Hello Speedy! Glad to see another female in Segment 44! I gather your rehearsals start on May 6th?? whereas those of us in 44A start on May 1st but then I suspect we are together for the big rehearsals from 20th May?
