EMA and free periods?

Does anyone know if free periods in 6th year affect the EMA allowance? Cause like registers aren't being taken during free periods does it mean you can't get the EMA anymore? :confused:

Not strictly EMA anymore, but there's a thing called a student bursary, it's a bit harder to get and not really worth as much. Some schools get given a fund for this and can also give money at their discression
