I don't like it how section C has very little to do with the section we are given. The past papers had lots more to do with the passage.

I went with redox.

Although, I'm not sure.

Water was acting as a nucleophile. It was nucleophilic substitution.

One of the MCQs, I cant remember the exact wording.
Can anyone remember the exact wording of the carbonate ions question in section C?

Hehehe +1.

Looks like we can make an unofficial ms, just to clear some things up!
Looks like I dropped 22-15 mark... What grade do you think that'll be?

Phew I think flame test will be accepted. It said suggest another test OTHER than heat or acid not WITHOUT heat or acid.
I think I got 74-76. Hopefully the A boundary will be 62 and the B 56 (or below)

Dropped 8 marks. Should be more than 105 ums for sure. If that is the boundaries, then I have my A overall for the full a-level chemistry grade! But who knows what the real mark scheme says eh?
I think I got 75, soooooo chuffed. Do you guys think that could be full ums? Never thought I'd get full ums in a chemistry exam. Probably won't either ha
Also there's great news for a lot of people on here. Both mechanisms will be accepted because it says 'suggest the mechanism' and the flame test for the compound will also be accepted (the very end of that question)

I thought this was harder than Jan 13 which was 77. Full ums will probably be between 74-77 I reckon. So you are definitely in with a shot!
