The Student Room Group

Is anyone familiar with Wolfram Alpha pro?

I want to get Wolfram Alpha pro's student discount, however the website appears to be set up for american students only so I don't have a ".edu" email adress it asks for to redeem the discount (I have a .ac.uk one, though). I was wondering if anyone knew if the discount was exclusively for American students.

I'm a first year maths student wanting to use it to check solutions while i'm away from university. At university I have maple but the license doesn't allow it to be used off of the uni's network.

Also, is it worth it?

why not get MATHEMATICA 9? - they have a student license you can get for 1 year for as little as £36 !!

Mathematica is REALLY easy to learn how to use - and very intuitive, not to mention the "documentation centre" has loads of examples on how thing should be done.

Besides, mathematica encompasses everything and much more that you can do on Alpha pro - for just £36 a year or £24 per semester!

Does that help?
