English help- PLEASE HELP

hi,

my teacher asked me to find out whether the verb 'delighted' in the following sentance is transitive or intransitive: " I am delighted to announce.."

I don't know whcih one it is!

Please help!!

Transitive verbs have a direct object they focus on e.g. `My dog ran to the garden`
Intransitive verbs do not have an object they focus on e.g. `My dog ran`

What`s the whole sentence?

I thought it was an adjective/adverb, shows how much I know about English haha
