For Maths as an insurance? Any REAL difference or not?

I assume your firm is somewhere like COWI. If so, you should be almost certain of getting an A* in normal maths and therefore should definitely meet your insurance. I've personally insured bath, but Bristol is pretty good as well.

Where did you firm? What was the offer?

I applied to Bath and Bristol after discounting Exeter. I have had an offer from Bristol but am waiting for Bath. Bath could well end up being my firm depending on how my other applications pan out. So I would say to put Bath as your insurance.
All three are good. I personally prefer Bristol because their Maths department has a good balance of pure and applied, whereas Exeter is very applied, so it obviously depends on your interests. In terms of grades it seems that Exeter is a solid insurance, but depending on what you are predicted, you may not need to consider that.
