Study AS-Level Physics

I am currently in my AS year and have completed my AS exams for:
Chemistry
Biology
Maths
History

I am going to be dropping history.
Because of certain career options,
I would like to take AS level Physics in my A2 year.
Because I have heard the curriculum is changing (example taking AS and A2 exams at the end of the two years)
how will this affect me?

Thank you

AS levels will be stand-alone qualifications and will no longer contribute to an A level grade. Their purpose will be to encourage curriculum breadth and they will remain broadly at their current standard. The AS level may be designed to be co-taught with the first year of the A level.
