Personal statement for different courses?

Hi guys;

Wanted to apply for optometry with diagnostic imaging as my insurance choice.

There is a degree of overlap between the two, obviously because of you know, dealing with the public, compassionate and empathatic manner, respect for professional obligations such as confidentiality etc.

However, I am still a little concerned that because I am straddling between two different fields my personal statement is going to sound vague, unfocused and disengaging. There is a Native American proverb: "if you chase two rabbits you will lose them both."

Any advice?

I had initially written a personal statement for both subjects, each PS was specifically tailored to that specific course. From there, I looked for the areas/skills of overlap and then edited accordingly.
I'm afraid it's not going to work - the admissions tutors want to see commitment to the field, rather than the overlap between the areas. You should focus on applying for one area and write your PS for that role
