I'm doing my homework and one of the questions is "why water is lost when lactate is produced in the muscle cells" is it because during anaerobic respiration lactate is produced which is soluble and lowers the water potential of the muscle cells so water moves in the cells from the tracheoles by osmosis?

the second question i don't understand at all it asks "when it kills phagocytes why does it make the lungs more likely to become infected" in reference to asbestos, any help please?
