They'll probably be handed sanctions and succumb to the pressure and end up build them anyway. It's certainly not fair, but Europe has become quite authoritarian nowadays.

Not sure, Poland certainly refused to fulfill their refugee quota after the events of New Years Eve, or perhaps even earlier, after the (November) Paris attacks

AFAIK, they haven't been faced with sanctions
As far as I know too, they haven't.

Bar the whole nationalist movements there, I do applaud them for taking a stand. I can't fathom why we are bending backwards for potentially millions of immigrants.

Only a small proportion of them are proper refugees fleeing IS. Most are economic migrants taking advantage of today's political climate. I'm sure you know this already.

A lot of our opinions are being censored too.

    no problem with this..

Its not a stance I agree with personally - as I feel that european countries should contribute to help refugees/migrants in controlled numbers and through the proper channels.. (everyone not abiding by these should be deported)

But I strongly believe that it is the citizens of a countries right to decide what they want to happen to their country.. and immigration plays a big part in what happens to a country. So if Romanians do not want this for their country, then fine. thats their decision, and as it is their country, they should be free to act in the manner that they see is best.

So countries are allowed to join the EU, mass emigrate to Western Europe to reap the financial rewards. But when things get tough, not share the burden collectively with the EU?

They seem to be doing exactly whats good for them.. taking the benefits that they want, and turning away from the drawbacks they don't want..

These days that seems quite ridiculous when many share the idea of countries having a mutual responsibility + being part of a larger collective..

But just a few decades ago, that was pretty much the definition of a countries plans: do whats best for your people.. don't do anything that's bad for your country.

Times change quickly over here, but many don't share our view of progress

And...? If anything, it's not the people currently living there.

Yes, we can say with certainty that those who threatened violence are the ones receiving money from relatives abroad.

    This is pure stargazing.

Why should any country be forced to take in others against the will of their own population?

And aside from that; only a minority of these 'desecrate people' are refugees so that 'fair share' is close to bugger all.

Pretty sure he is being sarcastic. If many of the mods on here weren't so ''progressive'' then people would be able to say stuff like this in a normal manner. Like the ''multiculturalism'' guy who is the most obvious reverse/sarcastic/troll account yet gets ignored because he passes all the PC mod filters. It's almost like that scene in ''The walking dead'' when they cover themselves with the dead's flesh and the zombies ignore them... this is what blind ideology does to one's brain.

The amount of people denying the reality of the citizenship is astounding. The people are speaking in the only way they can, take away political discourse (the EU is far beyond reasoned argument about immigration) and this is inevitable. It would be wise of the establishment to remember they serve the people and not the other way around, that doesnt mean they always have to agree with them. Of course if a more reasoned discussion was allowed more ground could be gained and conceded leading to compromise (ie the entire point of politics and elected representatives and all that), allowing the people to express their preferences (as the officials and government are still citizens). Closing eyes to the realities at ground level is foolish and will always cause this sort of reaction which by the by is no victory. Minority partizan tactics of violence are not to be lauded as achievements, they are the precursor to far worse.

Yes, and their relatives told them what they saw in the UK. Problems with muslims.

Anyway this is a good example of democracy. Something the UK and western europe do not have it. They collected signatures and got what they have wished.

Wouldn't you do the same in their place?

Economic uplift, opportunities for their citizens but no Muslim immigrants. What's not to like from their point of view?
