    Hi Guys,

Sorry for being extremely nosey but I was just wondering the different amounts you receive each month from SAAS in bursaries.

I've just recieved my award notice and it's not as much as I thought considering I will be paying my own living costs hours away from home. Is this a stark welcome to student life or could I be entitled to more? Thanks.

    What did you apply for?

If your in a low income household you can get £7,625, for everyone else their parents are expected to make up the shortfall (the maximum for a household earning £34,000 or above is £4,750). The full breakdown is here.

My parents put me in the £4,750 bracket but barely gave me anything so that was rough while I was at uni but there is emergency funding (its from the government so every uni gets it) if you find yourself really struggling to make ends meet.
