Predicted grades doesn't meet entry requirements, should I still apply for uni?

Hello,

I didn't do too good on my 1st year of BTEC due to personal and family issues that have happened and got MMP as my overall predicted grade. Now, there are 3 choices of uni that I want to attend but their entry criteria is DMM. If I work really hard, it is still possible to achieve those grades.

Should I still apply anyway? (I know its a longshot but I want to at least try!)

I really appreciate what you guys think.
i definetly think that you should still apply. the worst case is that they dont accept u and u dont go (which you wouldnt be doing anyway if you didnt apply)

Its always worth applying, what's the worst that can happen? You never know, you may do better than expected, as it seems predicted grades are not that accurate anyway so you may do better than you think. There was an article here saying how the application process should be changed as predicted grades aren't reliable.
