Impressions of an online self help website - Online Survey

You are invited to take part in an online survey exploring the impact of visual design on people's first impressions of health websites as part of my PhD.

What is the purpose of the research? The aim of this research is to explore the role that the look of a website has on peoples' first impressions and intentions to register with it.

Who can take part? Anyone over the age of 18 with normal, or corrected to normal (ie with glasses), vision and no experience of colour blindness is welcome to take part.

What does the study involve? If you choose to take part you will be asked to provide feedback on nine different designs for the front page of a website. For each design you will be asked how much you agree or disagree with a number of questions. In each case an image of the website will be presented above the questions. You will also be asked to complete some brief questions about you. Please allow up to 30 minutes to complete the questionnaire, but I have so far found most participants get through it much quicker.

How can you take part? If you would like to take part simply click on the link below. This will direct you to further information and a consent form for the study, after which you will be able to take part in the online survey.

I am of course also happy to repay the favour and take part in other people's studies. I will be going through the board and taking part in a few, but if you complete mine please feel free to reply here with a link to your study and I will be sure to complete it as soon as I get a chance.

I just finished your questionnaire, do you think you could do mine please?

It will take 15 minutes and you be entered into a (real) £25 prize draw.

The only requirement is that you must be attending a university.

Thanks so much, Kit
