does ECDL actually count as a GCSE?

I have asked many people on whether or not ECDL counts as a GCSE and they all give different answers. Does anybody with the ECDL qualification know? Say you get 5 GCSE's and ECDL, would a job/uni/sixthform count that as 6 GCSEs? Thank you
Yes it is counted as equivalent of level 2 and therefore a GCSE

Equivalent. When you get your results it won't say under qualification type GCSE because it isn't a GCSE but an lvl 2

EDCL does count towards a GCSE for only this years. Next year it will be disqualified therefor doesnt count as a GCSE

It's entirely up to the 6th form where you are applying whether they count it or not so ask them.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ pretty much
Nom my college didn't add it as another
I'm trying to apply for A-LEvels at Leeds City College and I don't think they count it. It seems to be up to the school/college whether or not to count it. My advice would be to ask your place of education about it.
