Difference between double and triple science

Hi everybody
My son is writing his GCSE this year, he likes to study medicine,
So I want to know the difference between double and triple science.
Thanks
Double science is 2 GCSEs collectively involving 12 modules and the two grades are the same. It is the standard science course at GCSE.

Triple Science is 3 GCSEs collectively involving 18 modules, 12 of which are from the double science course, so effectively an additional 6 modules. A seperate grade is given for Chemistry, Biology and Physics. The extra six modules cover several tops that appear in A-level science courses and as a result are harder.

If your son likes science AND the school will adequately teach it (mine didn't), I'd recommend it. I basically had 1 extra lesson a week for a few months to try and master the extra 6 modules, that I would not recommend.
