Dealing with anxiety

I've always been an anxious person but around exams my anxiety gets worse however this year it's spiralled out of control and I think this is due to having to meet grades for a uni offer.
I always start worrying about failing and then I start to worry about everything else. I've been to see a doctor but that was useless and I really need help on how to cope/ deal with anxiety. It scares me and I just want it to go away and be happy again :frown:
It's also distracting me from revision because I can't focus and I need to get back on track

The Dr can give you medication to calm you down or access to therapy which can teach you how to control stress.

Like it or not the exams are here.

Try looking after yourself:

1. Get well organised. work consistently and to your study schedule so that you cover all subjects in as much depth as you can by the time the exams arrive. Doing enough revision will help you understand you did your best.

2. Remind yourself that 1hr spent studying and learning is going to benefit you more than 1hr worrying.

3. revise in 30 min units then take 5 mins break.

4. Dont forget to socialise or relax. You cna only do so much quality revision a day. Sleep relaxation and eating properly are important as well. Going for a walk outside or other exercise gets rid of a bit of stress. meditation, yoga or listening to some music helps.

5. Dont forget to var your revision, exam papers, flash cards, notes, whatever is bets for you. If you do the same thing you get even more bored.

6. Focus on the short term. i.e day by day and week by week. If you revise well enough in that short time frame, then be consistent and your quality of revision woill build up.

7. There is life after exams but for now remind yourself you will just focus on exams and as long as you do your best then you can do no more. There is life after exams no matter what happens.
