French and German equivalent of Radio 4?

Not being too well up on these things, I was wondering whether anyone knows any French or German radio stations (available online, preferably with a sort of listen again function) that regularly have radio 4-esque programmes. You know, current affairs, debate, plays, comedy, that sort of thing.

I'm trying to find new things to listen to to improve my languages (doing AS French and German)

i have no idea but why not just get a few dvds and set the language to french (and the subtitles to english to help you)?

Check WRD5 for political/scientifical stuff. It can be pretty boring at times, but they do have good political talks. http://www.wdr5.de/
Deutsche Welle would be a good choice too:

For the French, I usually listen to vivacité but it's mainly music (an Belgian, but there's hardly any difference).

Try France Info , it's the most "serious" one ... I'm sure you can get in on line ... otherwise you've also got things like RMC, Europe 1, Europe 2 (more like Radio 1 though) , ...

hey, i like frenchculture, from what i've heard so far it's similar to radio 4, occasionally has small musical performances etc.
