Hi, does anyone have any tips for getting into medical school.
Any help would be useful, writing a successful personal statement, extra curricular, ways to prep for interview etc, thanks!

Hiya,

There's so much that I could say about applying to medical school - is there anything in particular that you'd like to know?

Here's a few general tips:

Get lots and lots of work experience. Not only will this be great to talk about in interviews, but you'll get a chance to see first hand what you're getting yourself into.

Take up a variety of extra curricular activities, and try to develop skills outside of academics. If you can demonstrate some key qualities such as leadership, teamwork, communication and so on, you'll be on the right track.

Interview prep is mostly about talking. The more you get used to putting forward your ideas and thoughts in a coherent manner, the more relaxed and confident you will be in an interview. I think that this comes with practice, so make use of your other friends applying to medical school and practice with them!

Writing your personal statement is always tricky. Make sure to look at what your universities will focus on, but generally include the reason you want to do medicine, how you've developed your interest and things that you've done to back it up.

Good luck with your application, and if you have any more questions feel free to ask
