unsure how to interpret exam questions.

I know a decent amount of content still need to learn alot more however the main issue i face when answering questions is i am unable to break the question down effectively and as a result this leads tome taking the wrong approach or answering a different question. Can anyone recommend how to break down the exams questions? Some examples of questions include:
Evaluate the extent to which alternatives to fossil fuel energy sources provide a secure future. (20 Marks)
Using examples, evaluate the extent to which the carbon cycle and the water cycle are being threatened by human activity (20 Marks)
Referring to examples, evaluate the implications for human well-being caused by the degradation of water and carbon cycles. (20 Marks)
Evaluate the responses from different players to the threat of a large scale release of stored carbon caused by planetary warming. (20 Marks)

Thank you any help will be appreciated.
