iPhones in contact?

I was wondering if I purchased an iPhone on contract from Tesco mobile, would the phone be unlocked and I can use any sim inside it or would it be locked to the network.
I know that iPhones from Carphone Warehouse are unlocked when bought and then lock to the first sim that’s been put inside.
Are all iPhones like that or if I buy from Tesco it’s locked to Tesco mobile?

Your best bet is just to go in and ask a sales rep.
