If I'm applying through clearing because I applied /registered on UCAS after June, do you need to add a reference? I'm about to finish my Bachelor degree and am planning to do a second degree in pharmacology.

Hi there, thanks for getting in touch!

First of all, you should fill out this form so that, on the morning of clearing, you will receive an email telling you which courses will be available. https://qmul.hobsonsradius.com/ssc/iform/I7TS78I7A86G0x6702k0p.ssc

Unfortunately, the courses which are available through clearing will not be released until results day on 16 August. However, I can tell you that Medicine and Dentistry have not previously had clearing places available. It is possible that some of the healthcare courses will be available through clearing.

Best,
Will

Hi, how many exams can your Accounting and Management course exempt me from? I guess what I am trying to understand is if it contains more Accounting than Business as the modules seem to cover a lot of Business. Thanks !!

Hi there, thanks for getting in touch.

It would be best if you speak to a member of our admissions team to determine whether you require a reference for Pharmacology or not. You can find the details on our website: https://www.qmul.ac.uk/clearing/

You could also check out this detailed step-by-step guide on how to fill out your UCAS application: https://www.ucas.com/undergraduate/applying-university/filling-your-ucas-undergraduate-application

Hi there, thanks for your question!

This is a question only the School of Business and Management can answer. You can contact them here: https://www.qmul.ac.uk/undergraduate/coursefinder/courses/2019/accounting-and-management/

I did something similar, I applied through clearing coming from a foundation year. Called as soon as early clearing opened, all they do is ask for your grade, if there’s a space available they’ll give you an offer on the spot which they will then email to you, and they just get you to email them your transcript. Was a very straightforward process no reference or personal statement needed, at least that’s how it was for me.

That sounds good.
How long ago was that? I went through smth similar in 2012 and it was just like you said, but that's already 6 years ago and it seems things have changed.

How hard is it to get accommodation for a first year student if I apply through clearing?

Hi!
Queen Mary holds 100 spaces rooms aside for clearing applicants, and these are allocated at random through a ballot system. To take part in the ballot system you must send your housing application in by Wednesday 22nd of August. If you do not meet the criteria for student housing or are not chosen by the ballot system we will hold a Find a Flatmate event on Tuesday 4 September, where you'll also be able to speak with QMUL housing advisors that will help you find a suitable home. You can check out this link for more information: https://www.qmul.ac.uk/clearing/accommodation/

Do we need a clearing number to apply to QMUL for clearing? I didn't apply this year and I haven't sent off my UCAS application.

Hi there,

Thank you for your query and interest in applying through clearing.

In order to apply to QMUL through clearing, you will need to have a live UCAS application and clearing number I'm afraid.

You can still submit a UCAS application to be entered into clearing, however there may be complications if references are required. It would best to contact the admissions team directly on +44 (0)20 7882 5511 or via emailing [email protected] to find out more.

The clearing hotline is open today until 7pm, tomorrow, Saturday, Monday and on Tuesday. So you still have time to submit your application.

I made a list of science courses with their course names, clearing phone numbers and universities. the universities are either in london or close and the courses are healthcare courses or v sciency. hope it helps someone in the next couple of days.
Does Queen Mary usually do clearing for Computer Science? I know this information isn’t released until A-level results day but has this subject been open for clearing in other years?

I worked on the clearing hotline last year, and unfortunately computer science was not in clearing.
However, the Science and Engineering Foundation Programme (Computer Science) was in clearing.
So this is just an extra year on top of the degree you wish to do after the foundation year.
Does Queen Mary do clearing for Business management or accounting and management and what are the grades like if so? I'm really worried about my exams as I think I'm going to only achieve around BBB but I genuinely don't want to go to any other university than QMUL
